AR dedicates multipurpose hall, conducts lecture

As part of Operation Sadbhavana Project, Assam Rifles on Thursday handed over a newly constructed multipurpose hall to villagers of New Canaan in Ukhrul district.
According to PRO IGAR (S), as New Canaan village has long faced challenges in terms of basic infrastructure, the new multipurpose hall will serve as a community space for meetings, social gatherings and other group activities that foster collaboration and unity.
The inaugural event was participated by local dignitaries, villagers, senior officials of Assam Rifles and community leaders who all expressed their support and commitment to the continued development of the region, the PRO conveyed.
On the other hand, with the aim to raise awareness about the role of women in society and encourage their active participation in various fields, Assam Rifles conducted a lecture on 'Women Empowerment' at Walkhu village in Churachandpur district.
The session was inaugurated by the Company commander who emphasised the importance of empowering women for the overall development of society.
The lecture was followed by an insightful address by a riflewoman of Assam Rifles, who shared her experiences and perspectives on breaking barriers and achieving success, the PRO informed.
