Kangpokpi, March 25 2022: Kuki Students' Organization (Twibul Block) and Village Authority of Kangchup Makhom have restricted entry of any unauthorised people or groups in the Kangchup Makhom vicinity from March 24 .

Thangboi Chongloi, general secretary of KSO Twibul Block, announced that in connection with the continuous blazing fire, presumably biomass, near the vicinity of Kangchup Makhom, KSO and the Village Authority decided to restrict entry of any unauthorised people or groups to the spot for the safety of the public.

He added that as burning biomass creates air pollution that causes health hazards including asthma, cancer, etc., the decision was taken to restrict entry.

The KSO unit also warned that strict action will be taken against violators.

The suspected biomass has been burning since March 13 .
