Discourse on teaching enhancement held

Oriental College (Autonomous), Imphal, in collaboration with ICFAI Business School (IBS), Kolkata, successfully conducted two development programmes aimed at enhancing faculty teaching methods and student employability.
Held on July 22 and 23, the events featured Prof Shubhanan Dey, associate dean of IBS Kolkata, as the resource person.
The Faculty Knowledge Sharing Programme, organised by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), focused on "How to Improve Classroom Teaching Using Recent Technologies".
Prof Dey shared insights into digital tools, flipped learning, and learner engagement strategies.
The following day, the Student Development Programme, organised by the Career Counselling, Guidance and Placement Cell, addressed "21st Century Skills for Employability".
Undergraduate students from Arts and Science streams received guidance on communication, emotional intelligence, digital literacy, and adaptability.
K Biplob Singha, coordinator of both programmes, emphasised the need to align academic practices with industry demands and foster skill development.
The initiatives were well-received and praised for their practical relevance and contribution to holistic academic growth, according to a release by the College.
