COCOMI sustains sit-in in Jiribam

Jiribam, December 19 2024: In continuation of the public movement launched by COCOMI, Jiribam Branch in connection with the involuntary disappearance of Laishram Kamalbabu and demand punishment of those involved in the Borobekra killings at the earliest, a sit-in protest was staged at Kalinagar Lairembi premises on Thursday.

The protest held under the banner 'Government must find L Kamalbabu at the earliest', 'Government must arrest culprits involved in killing of women and children at Borobekra', 'Punish murderer of Khundrakpam Athouba', 'We oppose imposition of AFSPA in Jiribam', 'Commando personnel involved in killing of student and village volunteer should be given befitting punishment' and 'Incompetent CM should resign' was participated by meira paibi activists of Kalinagar Leikai.

The protesters also chanted slogans and held placards for restoration of peace, demand for locating whereabouts of Kamalbabu, protecting of civilians, denunciation of re-impo-sition of AFSPA in Jiribam and protection of village volunteers.
