Thoubal observes 'World No Tobacco Day'

Thoubal, November 14 2024: New Era Higher Secondary School, Thoubal Wangmataba, in collaboration with Sangai Youth Tobacco-Free and Educational Organisation (SYTFEO), a member of the State Level Coordination Committee (SLCC) under National Tobacco Control Programme of National Health Mission Manipur, observed World No Tobacco Day-2024 on Thursday.

The observance themed 'Protecting Children from Tobacco Industry Interference' was held at the Higher Secondary School to raise awareness among teachers, staff, and students in educational institutions about the harmful effects of tobacco.

The commemorative event was attended by students of educational institutions in and around Thoubal district headquarters, and also participated in a rally from the school till the Thoubal Keithel.

The rally held under a huge banner inscribed 'Choose life, No tobacco', culminated with students administered oath to refrain from using tobacco.

The observance was also attended by Food Safety Administration, Thoubal designated officer Yumnam Satyajeet, Secondary School principal Th Kumar, Thoubal ZEO A Anilkumar, former Thoubal CMO Dr S Bimolakumari Devi, NTCP/DHS Thoubal district nodal officer Dr Mutum Bikramjit, SYTFEO co-founder and president Premjit Thokchom and members.
