Campaign for free education zone continues

Imphal, July 29 2024: As part its campaign, Coordinating Committee on Disturbance Free Educational Zone Demand organised demonstration calling for making education sector free from all forms of disturbances.

On Monday, the campaign was carried out at Kumbi College and St Xavier's School, Moirang during which students, teachers and staff of both institutions took part and displayed placards containing various slogans to ensure that students pursue education and teachers mould the future generation of the society without any interference.

The committee also urged the government not to politicise the education sector and enact a law to guarantee minimum of 220 classes in a year and to check the malaise of corruption, nepotism and favouritism in the administration of education.

The committee also appealed to armed groups not to serve unbearable monetary demand to educational institutions or threaten anyone related to education sector.
