CPI protests against rising prices of fuel and essential commodities

Imphal, June 26 2021: Protests and rallies were carried out in the State today as a part of Nation wide protest against the exorbitant rising prices of fuel and essential commodities.

A press release by Communist Party of India (CPI), Manipur State Council said that a sit in protest w,as staged at Lamlai today organised by CPI Lamlai Local Council.

State secretary of CPI, L Sotinkumar, secretariat member A Lala, secretary of CPI (M) Kh Santa and spokesperson of MSC/CPI RK Amusana among others participated in the protest.

Addressing the gathering, leader of CPI Lamlai Local Council, H Bimol said that the rising prices of fuel has added more woes to the suffering of the farmers and it is expected that the income of farmers may be reduced by 50 percent next year.

He also declared that CPI along with the people of Lamlai will carry out strong form of agitations against the Government for their heinous activities.

A rally was also carried out and slogans like 'Save Democracy', 'Save the farmers and repeal the three Farm Bills', 'Reduce the price of fuels' were also raised.

Tentha
Meanwhile, a protest was carried out at Tentha.

Multiplex Hall organised by CPI Wangjing Tentha Local Council.

The protest was attended by Dr M Nara, National Executive member of CPI, H Roben, State executive member and secretary of CPI Wangjing Tentha Local Council among others and spoke regarding the rising prices of fuel and essential commodities and its impact on the general masses.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr M Nara alleged that due to faulty measures of the BJP Government against the COVID-19 pandemic, many people have succumbed and it is high time that the Government should be taught a lesson.
