AR Coy commander meets locals, awareness lecture conducted

Assam Rifles organised 'A Day with Company Commander' at Aibol Joupi on Saturday with the goal of strengthening ties with the villagers and school children.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the villagers and students were introduced to the functioning of the Assam Rifles and also got an opportunity to know life inside the Assam Rifles camp.
Informing that the event included a series of intellectual and fun-filled activities such as quiz competition, poem recitation, time table competition, treasure hunt, singing, musical chair and volleyball, the PRO said that the villagers and children enthusiastically participated in all of the events, besides availing services provided during a medical camp conducted later.

child health care benefitted total of 134 villagers, including 38 women and 57 children.
Meanwhile, Assam Rifles conducted an awareness lecture on medical emergencies which included prophylactic demonstrations on snake bite, cardiac arrest (CPR), infectious diseases and on alcohol and drug abuse along with a practice session of yogasanas.
Medical aid was also provided at Santing village, Churachandpur district, on Sunday.
These frequent events result in community engagement in conflict hit villages, focusing on health and wellness activities, said the PRO in another release, adding that around 20 children participated in yoga sessions, promoting physical fitness and mindfulness.
The event also covered topics on drug and alcohol abuse, aiming to raise awareness and educate the community on these important issues.
