IRCS extends flood aid to Khoidum village

Kakching, July 19 2025: The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Kakching district branch, extended relief assistance to residents of Khoidum village, located near Pumlen Pat under Hiyanglam assembly constituency, on Friday.

Led by its chairman Dr Mayanglambam Rajkumar and secretary Kshetrimayum Dharmadash, the IRCS team distributed tarpaulins, mosquito nets and hygiene kits to families affected by the recent floods.

Due to incessant rainfall over the past few days, several houses in Khoidum village faced inundation, leading to displacement and hardship for many residents.

Although the rainfall has now subsided and the water level in Pumlen Pat receding, several pockets remain waterlogged.

More than 20 affected households are currently taking shelter in tents provided by the IRCS Kakching branch.
