AR celebrates 'Lai Haraoba'

Imphal, May 19 2021: Tengnoupal' Battalion under the aegis of IGAR(South) assisted the villagers of Kwatha Village in celebrating Lai Haraoba festival yesterday.

During the celebration, the villagers and troops of Assam Rifles offered prayers at the village temple.

The festival was celebrated with limited attendance did to restrictions imposed due to covid-19.The festival was celebrated adhering to COVID appropriate behaviour, said a statement issued by PRO Assam Rifles.

The event culminated with distribution of ration and refreshment to the villagers.

The village chief highly appreciated the efforts made by Assam Rifles and also requested to continue assistance in future, added the statement.
