Sanaton killed for raping minor: RPF

Imphal, November 14 2024: The proscribed Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) has claimed responsibility for the killing of one Waikhom Sanaton (27), s/o late W Premkumar of Kharasom Makha Leikai, Imphal East district, stating that he was awarded death penalty for raping and attempted murder of a minor girl earlier this month.

In a statement, RPF informed that Sanaton outraged modesty of a 14-year old girl at knife point on November 1.He then tried to murder the girl by hitting her with a brick.

Upon finding him guilty of rape and attempted murder of the minor girl, RPF awarded him death penalty and executed the same on November 13, the statement added.

As per information received here, Sanaton was found dead in Yaralpat wetland area under Porompat police station on Thursday morning with two bullet injuries.

The body was first spotted by joggers around 5:30 am on Thursday.

Residents of Yaralpat village reported hearing three gunshots around 2 am Thursday.
