Annual state art exhibition underway

Imphal, March 09 2025:
The 43rd Annual State Exhibition of Art organised by Manipur State Kala Akademi (MSKA) has commenced from Sunday at the art gallery of the Akademi at Khuman Lampak, Imphal: Art and culture commissioner M Joy inaugurated the exhibition, which will continue till February 13.Speaking on the occasion, secretary Sunanda Thokchom informed that MSKA has been presenting Manipur State Kala Akademi Award (Fine Arts) to two select artists every year.

From next year onward, the number of award will be three by adding another award in the field of sculpture works, she said.
The secretary further said that altogether 60 artists are participating in the exhibition with 71 exhibits, which include 32 paintings, 13 drawings, 12 graphics, 12 sculpture works and two photography works.
Despite the current crisis, more artists are participating in this year compared to last year's exhibition, which is organised with the objective to provide a platform to the artists to showcase their talents and creativity, she added.
