AR pays tribute to brave-heart

Assam Rifles on Friday organised a wreath-laying ceremony for Nb Sub (GD) Resham Bahadur Chhetri of 4 Assam Rifles who made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation.
According to PRO IGAR (S), on July 5, 2001, around 3pm due to hostile conditions at Chassir village in Tuensang (Nagaland), while conducting a search, Assam Rifles troops came under heavy fire from insurgents.
The AR personnel swiftly retaliated with fire but Nb Sub (GD) Resham Bahadur Chhetri suffered gunshot wound and succumbed to injuries.
Assam Rifles honoured the braveheart by paying homage at War Memorial for his supreme sacrifice for the cause of the nation.
The ceremony commenced with the wreath-laying, followed by a motivational speech narrating the story of the braveheart in the service of nation, the release further said.
Two officers, four junior commissioned officers and 45 other ranks of Assam Rifles paid tribute by laying a wreath and according a guard of honour, it added.
