National Deworming Day prog launched

District Health Society (DHS), Thoubal on Friday launched National Deworming Day 2nd Round programme at the CMO Thoubal Complex NHM conference hall along with administration of deworming tablets to children aged 1 to 19 years.
The programme was attended by DHS chairman and Thoubal deputy commissioner A Subhash Singh as chief guest and Thoubal chief medical officer (CMO) Dr Y Nokul as president, while Child Health Division state nodal officer Dr A Sylvia, Thoubal ZEO Arambam Anilkumar Singh, Thoubal district hospital medical su perintendent Dr W Ruhinikumar Singh and ICDS Cell, Thoubal district programme officer N ParangO Singh were present guests of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Subhash allayed apprehension of the students over administration of deworming tablets while explaining that it is a public health initiative of central government to treat worm infections and keep the children healthy.
He also urged them to embrace the habit of proper hand washing especially before eating to prevent any infection.
