Health check-up camp conducted

A health check-up camp under the Extended Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (E-PMS-MA) for tracking High Risk Pregnancies (HRPs) was conducted at the Community Health Centre (CHC), Chakpikarong on Wednesday.
A team led by Chandel chief medical officer (CMO) Dr Joyson Mathew Monsang, MO-gynaecologist Dr PS Shangreaihow, MO-sonologist Dr HB Kenhring Anal, obstetrics and gynaecologist Dr Abenliu Newmai, general medicine specialist Dr Vengala Durga Sathya Sai Shyam, CHC, Chakpikarong district residency programme and medical officers, district programme manager, district consultant-quality assurance and nurses and staff attended to the pregnant women present in the camp.
A total of 71 pregnant women from Chakpikarong, Khubung khullen and Sajik Tampak areas availed the EPMSMA services of specialist care from obstetrician and ultrasound examination from sonologist.
High risk pregnant women were identified and counselling given to them.
Pregnant women from far flung areas were picked and dropped by the 102 Ambulance with food and nutrition also provided to the attending pregnant women.
The camp was part of the on-going monthly programme conducted by the District Health Society, Chandel focusing on providing comprehensive, quality antenatal care, especially for high-risk pregnant women and aims to identify and track high-risk pregnancies and ensures they receive regular follow-up care.
