FOCS mourns Sonamani, Ratan Thiyam

Imphal, July 23 2025: Federation of Civil Societies (FOCS) has extended deepest condolences over the sudden demise of socio-political commentator Potsangbam Sonamani and renowned theatre luminary Ratan Thiyam.

In a press release, FOCS informed that a condolence meeting was held at the head office of the Federation at Kabo Leikai.

The attendees offered floral tributes to the portrait of Sonamani, followed by observance of a two-minute silence as a mark of respect to the deceased.

FOCS also issued another release, expressing its deepest condolences over the demise of renowned theatre icon Ratan Thiyam on Wednesday.

Ratan's sudden demise is a huge and irreplaceable loss not only for Manipuri theatre but the theatres of the world, it added.
