State engineer feted for national, global honours

Imphal, July 19 2025:
Civil Engineering Division of the Institution of Engineers (India), Manipur State Centre felicitated engineer Takhellambam Sushanta Singh of Sega Road Takhel Leikai, Imphal West, for his promotion as joint general manager and head (structural steel), EDRC - Larsen and Toubro Construction B&F .
The programme, held on Thursday, was organised to recognise his contributions as a Manipuri engineer towards nation-building and global infrastructure development.
Sushanta, who holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and a Masters in Structural Engineering from MS University of Baroda, has led the design and construction of major infrastructure projects in India and abroad.
His notable works include the Preheater Tower and Cement Mill at Lafarge Surma Cement Plant in Bangladesh, structural design for Honda Siel Cars India Ltd in Noida, the Paint Shop Building at Maruti Udyog Ltd, IMT Manesar, and structural works at both Bangalore and Mumbai International Airports.
He also served as Lead Structural Engineer for the ITC Twin Towers in Colombo and the Oman Botanical Garden in Muscat.
The felicitation programme, sponsored by Pi-satao Constructions, was attended by IEI Manipur State Centre chairman L Swamikanta Singh, honourary secretary Dr Th Subhaschandra Singh, joint honourary secretary H Bharat Meitei, committee members, corporate members, and special invitees.
The event was hosted by L Denin Singh.
