Imphal West VDF band platoon launched

Imphal, October 18 2022: For the first time, a 27-member Imphal West VDF band platoon was formed on Tuesday.

The launch programme held at Imphal West district police Headquarters was attended by DGP P Doungel, ADGP (LO) Clay Khongsai, Imphal West SP Ksh Shivakanta, All Manipur VDF Welfare Association chief advisor and AMWJU president Wangkhemcha Shamjai, DIGs, IGs, Additional SPs and DSPs among others.

Speaking at the programme, DGP Doungel lauded the VDF for launching the first Imphal West band platoon.

Stating that everybody knows that salary of VDF is low, yet their responsibility is huge, he commended the VDF personnel for their vital role in maintaining law and order in the state.
