According to the SOREPA statement, the history of Kangleipak/Manipur and the history of India are like water and oil and cannot be mixed at all, as Kangleipak/Manipur gained independence on August 14 and India on August 15 .
Ever since India's annexation, several revolutionary organisations have been fighting to restore the lost sovereignty of Kangleipak.
"The political conflict between Kangleipak and India started after India violated the right to self-determination of Kangleipak, which is the primary objective all the revolutionary organisations operating in the region," the SOREPA said, adding that permanent peace would remain elusive without resolving the ongoing political conflict between Kangleipak and India.
The statement issued by publicity & organisation secretary MC Yaiphabi continued that the people of Kangleipak/Manipur have no reason to acknowledge India's independence or formation of the nation after annexation of 562 princely states by snatching the right to self-determination.
Accordingly, the people of WESEA region including Kangleipak/Manipur, Kashmir and Khalistan have no reason to join India's Independence Day celebration and should rather boycott it.
"With this thought, SOREPA imposed general strike on August 15," the statement declared, and extended support to general strike, boycott, or total shutdown called in the region annexed by India like WESEA region, Kashmir and Khalistan.
SOREPA said Kangleipak continues to be in a state of complete chaos or unrest with artificial ethnic clashes ever since the forcible occupation by India.
However, the people of the land have witnessed the true face of India with the series of artificial ethnic clashes beginning from the early 1990s to the present one between the Meeteis and Kukis.
India's objective to bring abrupt end to revolutionary movement for restoration of sovereignty of Kangleipak/Manipur through ethnic clash, however, is well aware to the people, the SOREPA said and called upon all the indigenous communities to unite and strengthen the sovereignty movement to achieve the ultimate goal.
While accusing India of trying to convert Kangleipak into a new Gaza in South-East Asia through the utilisation of proxy forces from outside to ultimately develop a monolithic Hindu state, the SOREPA termed the same as a long-planned deep state policy of India and thus, people will have more understanding to it with detailed discussion and comparison on Zionism and Hindutva.
"India's attempt to convert the once sovereign Kangleipak as the new Gaza of South and South-East Asia and the dream of forming mythical state Akhanda Bharat based on Hindutva ideology need to be opposed by the global fraternity particularly those neighbouring India," asserted the statement.
The SOREPA then reiterated that general strike or total shutdown being called by revolutionary organisations every year on August 15 is part of the national resistance movement and one of the steps towards restoring the right to self-determination.
"It is also a decolonisation process for the people of Kangleipak/Manipur and WESEA region, the SOREPA cautioned and called upon entire people of Kangleipak/Manipur and WESEA region to start decolonisation process on their own to sneak out of India's forcible occupation.
