CRPF units celebrate Valour Day, raising day

CRPF Group Centre, Langjing and 143 Bn CRPF, Lamphelpat celebrated Valour Day on Wednesday by paying homage to all brave-hearts of the force at their respective locations.
The commemorative event at Langjing began with CRPF M&N Sector IG RN Dash paying tributes to brave-hearts who laid down their lives in the line of duty by laying a wreath before the 'Martyrs' Memorial and also felicitated the families of the 'Martyrs' .
In his address, IG Dash lauded the unwavering dedication of CRPF towards their duties of protecting the nation, and expressed satisfaction over the fact that CRPF continues to follow its tradition of valour in the most dangerous situations arising in dynamic and intricate challenges like tackling terrorism, insurgency, Naxalism, civil unrest, disasters, etc.

He also expressed gratitude to family members of personnel for the sacrifices they make each day while their loved ones stay away on duty.
The IG urged the officers and men to perpetuate the exemplary legacy left behind by these brave-hearts by continuing to serve the nation with honour, courage, and determination.
Four gallantry medal recipients were felicitated on the occasion.
According to a CRPF release, DIGP R Duidang, GC DIG Anil Kumar Bhardwaj, DIG Vinay Anand and DIG (Med) Dr OB Singh, other officers and personnel were present at the function and paid heartfelt tributes to the 'Martyrs' of the force.
143 Bn CRPF also commemorated Valour Day at its Lamphelpat headquarters, honouring the heroic actions of the 2nd Battalion during the 1965 battle at Sardar and Tak Posts.
Commandant Ravinder Sharma led the observance, paying tribute to the fallen heroes and addressing CRPF officers and personnel on the significance of the day.
A ceremonial pledge (Sankalp) was undertaken to reaffirm commitment to duty and service.
The day's events included a Sainik Sammelan, a football match in the evening, and a traditional Barakhana, according to a release.
Meanwhile, 109 Bn CRPF celebrated 35th Raising Day at its Mongsangei headquarters on Tuesday during which commandant Brijesh Kumar, second-in-command, officers, SOs and personnel paid heartfelt homage to the martyrs.
In his address, the commandant highlighted battalion's distinguished journey, accomplishment and contribution in maintaining internal security and community service and motivated the personnel to work in their respective fields with full dedication.
As part of the celebration, a fair was also organised at Unit HQ on April 6 followed by a cultural programme in the evening attended by IG M&N Sector Rajendra Narayan Dash as chief guest.
The event also included cultural performances by students, personnel of 109 Bn and families.
IG M&N Sector RN Dash extended his heartfelt gratitude to 109 Bn officers, personnel and their families for their steadfast dedication.
The event concluded with prize distribution and vote of thanks.
