Landslides damage eight houses in Noney

Noney, August 07 2024:
Normal life has been severely disrupted by incessant rains over the last few day's in Noney district, with landslides damaging more than 8 dwelling houses in Longmai Part-1 .
The affected families have been relocated to safer places.
The telecommunication/mobile tower walls also collapsed, and inter-village roads were damaged due to land sinking.
The rain also caused electric lines to snap, resulting in a power outage for many days.
Meanwhile, Longmai part-1 villagers have appealed to the government to send experts/geologists to study the land sinking that occurred in the habitat area in order to avoid calamity.
Mudslides from the hilly terrain brooks destroyed some dwelling structures and stys at Rengpang Part 3 (Kiangbiangpang) near NH-37.Along the NH-37, landslides occurred between Nungba and Rongdai, as well as Shantikhunou, Siblong, and Nungkao.
Landslides also occurred between Rengpang and Taodaijang villages on the Tongjei Maril Road (Bishnupur-Khoupum-Rengpang Road) .
