Students protest at Wangoi ZEO office

Kakching, July 30 2025: Denouncing the transfer of two out of three teachers utilised in Phoubakchao High School (Govt), students of the school staged protest at the office of Zonal Education Officer (ZEO), Wangoi on Tuesday.

The students declared that they would continue the demonstration until the required teachers are posted.

Upon receiving information about the protest, members of Pangal Students' Organisation (PSO) visited the site and joined the demonstration.

Later, a seven-member team comprising three PSO members and four protesting students met with the ZEO Wangoi.

However, the meeting ended without any solution.

Speaking in this regard, one of the protesting students shared that during their meeting, the ZEO conceded that the matter was beyond his ambit.

The student criticised the government's inaction, saying it was equivalent to denying students their right to education.

Stating that they wanted to learn, the student urged authorities to immediately send the necessary teachers to their school.

Meanwhile, PSO finance secretary Yumkhai Askar said that they will support the protest launched by the students until required teachers are assigned to the school.
