13 new Covid cases reported; positivity rate crosses 30 pc

Imphal, June 28 2025:
The state reported 13 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 230, according to the latest bulletin issued by the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP), Directorate of Health Services.
The daily positivity rate remains a cause for concern, standing at 30.2 per cent from just 43 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
The surge continues to be concentrated in Imphal West, which accounted for 10 of the 13 new cases.
The remaining three cases were reported from Imphal East, Thoubal and Bishnupur districts, with one case each.
At the same time, 30 patients were discharged after completing the mandatory seven-day home isolation, pushing the total number of recoveries to 112.With this, the state's active caseload currently stands at 118.Since June 16, a total of 756 samples have been tested across the state.
While testing numbers remain relatively low, the persistently high positivity rate has prompted growing concerns among the public about community transmission and the need for enhanced surveillance and precautionary measures.
Public health authorities have advised people to continue observing basic COVID-19 protocols such as wearing masks in crowded places, maintaining hand hygiene and staying home if symptomatic, especially as the ongoing wave continues to affect key districts like Imphal West.
