Imphal, May 25 2024:
The Spear Corps of Indian Army organised an anti-malarial fumigation drive at a relief camp in S Kawtlian, Churachandpur district,-on Saturday.
The relief camp, accommodating 137 internally displaced individuals, including men, women, and children, has been facing challenges due to inadequate facilities since the onset of the crisis.
With the impending rainy season exacerbating the mosquito and insect menace and posing severe health risks, the fumigation initiative was a timely and much-needed intervention to mitigate the threat of malaria and other vector-borne diseases.
The effort was met with appreciation from both the locals and the IDPs residing in the camp, who expressed gratitude for the support provided by the Indian Army.
They have requested similar assistance in other affected areas as well.
The Indian Army reaffirms its commitment to the welfare of the people and will continue to undertake initiatives aimed at improving living standards and ensuring the well-being of those residing in relief camps across the region.
