Army conducts plantation drive, medical camp

In the run-up to the 76th Republic Day celebrations, the Indian Army organised a-tree plantation drive in Naodakhong village area, Bishnupur district, and a medical camp at the relief camp for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) set up at Torbung Bangla, Churachandpur district, on Thursday.
The tree plantation drive saw active participation from the local community, who collaborated with Army personnel to plant 50 saplings.
The event also featured an educational session aimed at raising awareness about sustainable practices and the relevance of Republic Day, emphasising the collective responsibility of safeguarding the environment.
Meanwhile, the medical camp at Torbung Bangla provided critical healthcare services to residents of the Relief Camp and nearby villages.
A dedicated team of Army medical professionals and nursing staff conducted health check-ups, consultations, and treatments.
An on-site medicine distribution counter ensured the availability of essential medications to patients, said a release.
