AR engages with CSOs in Kamjong, Chassad

In an effort to foster community engagement and regional peace, Assam Rifles organised an interaction with members of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) in the border villages of Kamjong and Chassad on Wednesday.
According to a statement issued by PRO IGAR (S), the event was aimed at addressing security-related issues and gathering feedback from the local communities.
Representatives from various organisations, including Happy Home, Chassad Youth Club, Kuki Women Union, Haophokmi Society, and Khararlong, which comprises senior citizens of Kamjong, participated in the discussions.
The interaction focused on the current security situation in the area and along the Indo-Myanmar border, highlighting.the challenges and strategies to counter the recruitment of local youth by insurgent groups.
The dialogue reinforced the shared responsibility of both the local communities and Assam Rifles in maintaining stability and ensuring peace in the area.
The engagement was seen as a step toward strengthening the relationship between Assam Rifles and the residents of Kamjong and Chassad.
This direct dialogue has played a vital role in promoting harmony and cooperation, demonstrating Assam Rifles' commitment to working closely with the community to address security concerns and foster regional stability, the statement added.
