Students' Sit-In demand release of six abductees

Kakching, November 14 2024:
Students of Kakching district on Thursday staged sit-in protests demanding unconditional release of three women and three children abducted by Kuki militants from Jakuradhor Karong under Borobekra police station, Jiribam district on November 11.Students of Mary Immaculate Catholic School, Irum Lamdong; Langmeidong Higher Secondary School; Eureka Academy, Thounaojam; Jems Academy, Kakching Khunou; and Rising Sun School, Kakching Khunou Angom Leikai, cancelled Children's Day celebration and instead staged protest demanding release of the kidnapped women and children.
Meanwhile, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Sandumba Achouba Umathel, Kakching (Thoubal) 10th Batch (1996) also appealed for release of the abductees on humanitarian ground as they are innocent women and children with one.
It also urged the government to take timely action to ensure safe release of the hostage.
