Missing BIPL worker from Assam found dead

Churachandpur, August 12 2025:
The lifeless body of one Dugdha Hazarika (37), son of Gojen Hazarika from Sonitpur, Assam, who had been residing at the Maukot BIPL Camp in Suangdoh village, was discovered on Tuesday in a forested area between Suahzahau and Zabellei villages, about 17.3 kilometres from Singngat police station.
According to district police sources,'Hazarika had been missing since July 28, 2025 .
Villagers, members of civil society organisations, and personnel from Singngat Police had conducted extensive searches but were unable to trace him.
During the ongoing search on Tuesday, villagers reported the presence of what appeared to be a body in the forest.
Upon verification, the search party confirmed it to be the remains of Dugdha Hazarika.
The body was subsequently taken into custody by Singngat police.
The deceased is currently being transported to the Churachandpur District Hospital morgue, where it will be kept for post-mortem examination, police sources added.
According to police, Hazarika and his elder brother had arrived on July 26 or 27, 2025 to work under Bharat Infra Private Limited (BIPL) and had been staying at the Maukot BIPL Camp.
On July 28, around 9 am, he left the camp carrying a bucket, apparently to attend to nature's call, but never returned.
