Garbage piles swell at Nagamapal

Following cessation of operation of the Solid Waste Management Plant at Lamdeng, heaps of waste materials are lying undisposed up at Nagamapal causing huge inconveniences and posing health hazards to the people in the area.
One of the largest waste management plant in Manipur, the Solid Waste Management Plant in Lamdeng was shut indefinitely by Lamdeng Apunba Lup due to the government's failure to repair the road linking the Plant.
As such, trucks carrying garbage collected from various locations have been dumping the trash near the Nagamapal Kangjabi Sulabh area.
The garbage pile, which has now almost become a small hill, is now stinking up the area and causing huge inconveniences to shops nearby the site.
In this regard, locals strongly condemned the dumping of garbage in the area and demanded authority concerned to remove the trash as soon as possible for it is affecting the health of the nearby residents.
