People greeted on birth anniv, Rights Day

Imphal, December 09 2021:
Manipur Governor La Ganesan greeted the people on the occasion of birth anniversary of C Rajagopalachari, the last Governor-General of India.
In his message, the Governor said that Rajagopalachari was an Indian statesman, writer, lawyer and independence activist.
He made many lasting contributions to Indian literature and also pioneered temperance and temple entry movement in India and advocated Dalit upliftment.
On the other hand, Law and Legislative Affairs minister Th Satyabrata Singh extended greeting and wished the people of Manipur on the occasion of International Human Rights Day which is observed around the world every year on December 10.In his message, minister Th Satyabrata said that the day is observed to commemorate the adoption of Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948 by United Nations General Assembly.
The significance of Human Rights Day is to enable us to take action in our daily lives, to uphold the rights that protect us all and thereby promote the kinship of all human beings,
he added.
