Hospice S Palliative Care Day held

Palliative Care Society, Imphal (PCSI), Shija Academy of Health Sciences (SAHS) and Shija Hospitals & Research Institute (SHRI), Imphal observed "World Hospice and Palliative Care Day" on Saturday at the SAHS Lecture Hall.
According to a release, SHRI CMD Dr Palin Khundongbam, SAHS medical superintendent Prof Kaushik Debnath and PCSI president Dr Ksh Manglem Singh attended the event as chief guest, guest of honour and president respectively.
The event held under the theme "Healing Hearts and Communities" stressed on the importance of palliative care to quality of life and advocate for equitable access for all.
Informing that PCSI was established in 2015 with the stated objective to relieve the suffering and improve the quality of life for patients with advanced disease and their families through compassion and quality care, the release said SAHS is the first homegrown private medical college in Northeast India, with an intake capacity of 150 students per year from 2021-2022 .
