RIMS Paediatric Cardiothoracic Unit inaugurated

Imphal, January 07 2023: Union minister for Home Affairs & Cooperation Amit Shah on Friday virtually inaugurated the North East Regional Paediatric Cardiothoracic Unit of RIMS, which was constructed under the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) NHM, Manipur.

During the inauguration programme held at Banting Hall, RIMS, director Prof L Ranjit Singh mentioned that Paediatric Cardiothoracic Unit of RIMS is the first in the state with well-equipped machine.

Children with heart diseases will no longer need to go other states for heart treatment, he said.

The operation for paediatric patients both for children and adults will start functioning, said Ranjit.

RIMS medical superintendent Prof N Sanjib Singh, deputy director (Admn) N Indrakumar Singh, RIMS CAO/FA S Sarat Singh, Manipur NHM RBSK state nodal officer Dr H Ibemcha, head of departments, faculty members, nursing officials, administrative staff and students were also present during the inauguration programme, said a release.
