Manipur Hill District Disabled Union clarifies

Imphal, March 04 2025: Manipur Hill District Disabled Union has clarified that it is an independent body formed for the welfare of the differently-abled persons and does not operate any union or non-governmental organisation (NGO) .

Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club, here, on Tuesday, Union secretary GD Chunchamliu pointed out that there are various unions in the valley dedicated to welfare of the differently-abled persons.

However, considering the non-existence of such union in hill areas, the union was constituted on July 28, 2022 .

Categorically rejecting as baseless and malicious reports published in some local dailies that the Union is aligned with Churachandpur-based Centre for Community Initiative (CC1), she appealed to all concerned not to spread such misinformation apd cause confusion among the people.
