Four arrested, arms, ammunition recovered

Two each active cadres of the armed KCP (PWG) and RPF/PLA were apprehended by Imphal West district police during search operation on Monday.
Various arms and ammunition were also recovered by the security forces.
According to a police report, Manipur police arrested two cadres of the banned KCP (PWG) from Imphal West district.
The cadres, involved in extortion activities targeting educational institutions in and around Imphal, have been identified as Huiningshungbam Kenjen Singh (36) and Irom Mikoi Singh (47).One mobile handset, one wallet, an Aadhaar card, Rs 30,690, and a two-wheeler were seized from their possession.
Police also rounded up two active cadres of the banned RPF/PLA identified as Wahengbam Tombi Singh (47) alias Ibetombi alias Chaothoi and Thoudam Hemchandra Singh (42) alias Ingo, for their involvement in extortion activities targeting educational institutions and businessmen.
Recoveries made from them include four mobile phones, one wallet, Rs 13,520 in cash, and a four-wheeler.
Additionally, police report said that a search operation was conducted by security forces at Pechi Chingthak Thong, Thoubal district, on Monday during which five 36 HE hand grenades, one SLR magazine, one 40 mm Lathode shell, one detonator, three smoke shells, 26 rounds, 52 cases, seven HD cartridges, and three unmarked fired cartridges were recovered.
