Tamenglong Running Club takes off with powerful start

Tamenglong, June 28 2025: Tamenglong Running Club, a transformative fitness initiative launched by Assam Rifles, was officially inaugurated on Saturday with an enthusiastic turnout of participants and dignitaries.

The club aims to promote fitness, unity, and a drug-free lifestyle among the youth of Tamenglong.

Open to all, regardless of tribe, age, or background, the initiative seeks to encourage healthy habits, instil discipline, and foster social harmony through regular community runs.

Over 50 aspiring marathon runners, along with numerous enthusiastic fun runners, joined the event, signalling a strong community response.

The flag-off ceremony was attended by various CSOs leaders, SP, and others.

Top performers were felicitated with sports shoes, fitness watches, T-shirts, and other fitness-related gifts.

The event concluded with a light breakfast arid refreshments.

More than just a running group, the Tamenglong Running Club represents a movement, one that seeks to steer youth away from negative influences and towards a future of strength, positivity, and collective pride.
