AR assists flood-hit people, conducts security meet

Assam Rifles of IGAR (S) rescued six locals stranded due to flooding in Irengband village of Kakching district and assisted in shifting the household items of as many as 15 flood-affected families to safety, on Wednesday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the Assam Rifles oh Tuesday also organised a medical camp at Tuitong village in Chandel district during which a total of 63 locals including senior citizens, pregnant and lactating women, and children from Tuitong and Gamnom villages were screened for treatment.
While informing that medicines were also distributed to those in need free of cost, the PRO said that a friendly volleyball match between the battalion and the youth of Old Samtal village was also played after the camp to strengthen the bond between Assam Rifles and the local community.
Meanwhile, an interaction programme for ex-servicemen and Veer Naris was held at the Assam Rifles camp, Headquarters Veng, Churachandpur on Wednesday.
The interaction not only highlighted resilience of the Assam Rifles but also reflected unwavering support for peace and stability in the state, the PRO informed, adding, a dedicated grievance cell was also set up to record concerns and solicit suggestions from the veterans, ensuring that their voices are heard and addressed.
