Imphal, December 21 2024: A pickup van traveling from Imphal to Bungpun was involved in an accident near Water Point (New Road) between Makan and the Wanglee Company Operating Base (COB) in Kamjong district on Friday around 11:25 pm.

Responding to the emergency, a Quick Reaction Team (QRT) from Assam Rifles, accompanied by medical staff, arrived at the scene to provide immediate assistance.

Among the passengers, a woman, about 50 years old, sustained a serious head injury, while three others suffered minor injuries, a release by PRO IGAR (S) informed.

First aid was administered on-site, and the injured woman was transported to Imphal in a civil vehicle for advanced medical treatment.

The remaining passengers were safely escorted to Bungpun_village by the AR, it added.
