Imphal, November 21 2024:
Dhanamanjuri University Students' Union (DMUSU) has urged all concerned not to cause disruptions to the academic atmosphere of the university.
The appeal has been made in light of one 'Apunba Maheiroi' announcing plans on the social media to hold protest inside the University, said DMUSU general secretary Takhelmayum Dijen.
According to Dijen, DMU-SU is neither aware about existence of Apunba Maheiroi nor has any connection with DMUSU or affiliated with any other students' body of the university.
The secretary also recounted similar incidents in the past, wherein unknown persons spread rumours on social media about planned protests in the university, subsequently heightening tension in the campus and resulting in deployment of security personnel, which disrupted the academic environment.
Dijen further clarified that if any agitation were to take place, it would be announced through the proper channels and students would be informed in advance about any planned protests.
"Therefore, any such disruptive actions by unknown individuals or organisations are seen as attempts to undermine the academic atmosphere and peaceful environment of the university, and should be halted immediately," he said.
