Training on horticulture crop held

Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) - Central Institute of Post harvest Engineering and Technology along with CAU, Lamphelpat organised a three-day training programme on horticulture crops processing and value addition under Schedule Caste Sub Plan (SCSP).
The training programme held from March 11 was attended by 50 farmers and entrepreneurs from different parts of Kakching district.
The participants were trained on processing and value addition of tree beans (yongchak), ginger, lemon, mushroom and olive fruits.
Knowledge on making of jams, pickles, juice and drying of tree beans was also imparted to the trainees, who were then provided training manual, hand tools and certificates.
ICAR scientists Dr K Bembem, Dr Th Bidyalakshmi and College of Food Technology CAU dean in-charge Dr Ng Joykumar took vital roles in conducting the training programme successfully.
