IMD issues Orange Alert for Manipur

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura from July 29 to August 1.The IMD advised residents to stay vigilant and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
The warning comes amid Manipur recovering from the impact of severe flooding and significant losses suffered due to recent weather events.
Manipur has been affected by flooding, with at least four fatalities, 13 injuries, and over one lakh people impacted due to heavy rainfall and subsequent flooding caused by Cyclone Remal in May.
The devastation was compounded by another flood a month later.
