Candidates demand conduct of viva voce

Imphal, February 27 2025: Water Resource Department Written Exam Passed Candidates Association (2019) has urged the Governor and the chief secretary to conduct the viva voce for the written test held in 2019 for various posts in the Water Resource Department.

Addressing the media at Manipur Press Club, here, on Thursday, Azmal Khan, a candidate, recounted that the Water Resource Department issued a notification in 2018 for the recruitment of 62 posts and subsequently conducted a written test.

However, the candidates who cleared the written test have been left in limbo for the past five years, owing to the department authorities inordinately delaying conduct of the viva voce.

According to Azmal Khan, memorandums were submitted to the Governor and chief secretary on February 14 this year, but no positive response has been received to date.

He appealed to the authorities to expedite the recruitment process and save the career of the prospective candidates while cautioning that intense agitation would be launched in case their humble appeal is not reciprocated positively.
