Moirangthem Rajendra named Writer of the Year

Imphal, June 23 2025: Naharol Sahitya Premee Samiti, Imphal has announced that 'Writer of the Year, 2025 (Lifetime achievement award) will be presented to poet and author Moirangthem Rajendra.

A release issued by the Samiti informed that Rajendra was enlisted for the award at an executive committee meeting held on June 19 .

Rajendra of Tentha Khongban, born on February 15, 1941, will be conferred the award for his continuous efforts in developing Manipuri literature.

He has published 56 books, including poetry, essays, and translations.

The award distribution ceremony will be held on the 26th Foundation Day of Naharol Sahitya Premee Samiti on July 17 at the Dr Kamal Literary Complex, Langthabal.
