AR celebrates World Senior Citizen's Day

Imphal, August 21 2024: Assam Rifles celebrated World Senior Citizen's Day at New Samtal, Tuitong and Sehlon villages in Chandel district on Wednesday, honouring and supporting senior citizens in the Northeast by providing medical check-ups and distributing essential items.

As part of its community engagement efforts, AR organised the event to recognise the contributions of elderly community members, distributed essential materials to senior citizens of Sehlon and New Samtal villages, PRO IGAR (S) said in a press release.

Also, AR medical staff and a team of nurses examined senior citizens.

A total of 24 senior citizens of Tuitong village were provided consultation and medicines, the release added.
