As part of its ongoing commitment to humanitarian aid and healthcare outreach in remote regions, Assam Rifles organised a medical camp at Chahgpol village in Khengjoi Sub-Division, Chandel district, benefitting 74 residents, including women and children.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the medical team provided diagnostic services and treatment for various health conditions, including respiratory ailments and skin infections.
Additionally, essential medications were distributed to patients.
Meanwhile, Assam Rifles inaugurated a 30kl water storage tank in Old Gelmol village, Churachandpur district, as part of Operation Sadbhavana, an initiative aimed at improving access to clean and sustainable water storage for the local community.
Beyond supplying potable water, the newly constructed tank will also support rainwater harvesting, contributing to long-term water conservation efforts in the region, said the PRO, adding that the dedication ceremony was attended by village chiefs, local residents, and Assam Rifles personnel, underscoring the collaborative efforts to enhance essential infrastructure in remote areas.
In another development, Assam Rifles constructed a modern, multi-purpose hall with a fully equipped kitchen and dining area under Operation Sadbhavna at the Old Age Home in Kakching district.
Currently serving as a camp for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), the new facility is designed to provide a clean, hygienic, and well equipped space for meal preparation and distribution, said the PRO.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by district level officials and secretary of the Old Age Home, among others.
