Ukhrul, December 16 2024:
Ukhrul district has set records by forming the longest human chain in India and Asia, with around 1,300 participants joining hands to recite a Bible verse in unison in both English and Tangkhul Naga languages.
The feat has earned a slot in both the India Book of Records and the Asia Book of Records.
The event was organised by the Baptist Youth Fellowship (BYF) of the Northern Tangkhul Naga Baptist Association (NT-NBA), under the guidance of Dr Sirangam Shimrang, and hosted by the Baptist Youth Society of Peh Dharsin Baptist Church as part of the 3rd Triennial Gathering at Peh village on December 12.Participants recited John 3:16, which states, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life," conveying the message of God's love and salvation to the sin-laden world.
On the same day, both the India Book of Records and the Asia Book of Records presented certificates to the Baptist Youth Fellowship (BYF) of NTNBA, recognising their achievement.
