AR apprehends SOREPA cadres

Imphal, January 15 2025: Acting on information about movement of cadres across the Indo-Myanmar border in Tengnoupal district, Assam Rifles launched multiple patrols on the likely routes of infiltration on Tuesday and apprehended three cadres of SOREPA .

Informing this, a press release issued by PRO IGAR (S), said that on noticing suspicious movement near the Lokchao River Bed, Assam Rifles personnel challenged the individuals as they entered the Indian territory, and apprehended three suspected person.

Upon questioning, the individuals revealed their affiliation with the Socialist Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (SOREPA), a faction of the proscribed Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL).

The apprehended individuals have been handed over to state police, it added.
