National seminar for printing press held

Imphal, June 10 2024:
All India Federation of Master Printers (AIFMP), New Delhi and All Manipur Printing Technologists Association (AMPTA), Imphal organised a national seminar on 'Romancing Print 2024: Empowering Local Printers', at NIELIT Seminar Hall, Akampat Imphal on Sunday.
Presided over by AMPTA president Yumkhaibam Samarendra Singh, the seminar was attended by AIFMP, New Delhi vice president (east) Senjam Surjit Singh as chief guest; Printing and Stationery, Government of Manipur director Athokpam Romita, joint director (trade, commerce and industries) Dr Polem Lenin Singh and AMPTA working president Laimayum Manjit Sharma as guests of honour.
In his speech, AMPTA president Yumkhaibam Samarendra Singh informed that there are around 140 printing press in Manipur.
Although they have developed significantly over the years, they are yet to catch up with the printing press in developed cities.
Instead of the government s engaging outside firms with regard to printing, it can engage local printing firms so as to improve the economy of the state, he said, while informing that another similar seminar would be held in the month of September.
