Senapati cops round up 170 sans ILP pass

Imphal, August 07 2025: Manipur police launched special drive to detect and round up illegal migrants and foreign nationals not in possession of valid documents since last week.

According to a statement issued by Manipur Police Control Room, Senapati District Police Task Force, which was constituted for detection of illegal migrants and foreign nationals, carried out the drive in market areas along National Highway-2, Maram-Peren road, Tadubi-Tolloi road and other inter-village roads.

Out of 2,412 individuals verified, 170 were found without ILP pass and 134 in possession of expired ILP documents.

The defaulters were taken to the Mao Gate ILP counter and made to obtain ILP passes.

While no illegal immigrant has been detected so far, the operation will be continued at all border entry points, the release added.
