Imphal, August 01 2025: Security forces apprehended four cadres of different armed organisations, including self-styled army chief of the KCP (Nongdrenkhomba) outfit.

A Manipur Police Control Room statement identified the self-styled army chief of KCP (Nongdrenkhomba) as Moirangthem Biramani Meitei alias Kangleipurel (46) of Phubala on Thursday.

A mobile phone and Sim card were recovered from him.

A cadre of the proscribed PREPAK (Pro) identified as Telem Naoba alias Teba (29) of Lairikyengbam Leikai Salam Leirak was arrested from Khurai Chairenthong on Thursday.

Two cadres of proscribed KYKL identified as Keisham Wilson Singh alias Dhananjoy (18) of Kairembikhok Mamang Leikai and Thokchom Sanathoi Meitei (22) of Khongjom Sapam Maning Leikai were arrested from Salungpham Bazar area on July 30.They are accused of involvement in extortion from public in Thoubal area.

One each 9mm pistol with magazine and 36 HE hand-grenade, three rounds of 9mm ammunition, two each mobile phones and SIM cards and Rs 5,000 cash were seized from them, the release added.

Security forces also conducted search operation in K Geljang area under Churachandpur police station on July 30, recovering one each AK rifle, SBBL shotgun, pompi empty shell and IED cap, three each pompi and detonators, eight 12-bore rounds, two Baofeng radio sets and three helmets.

Manipur police also arrested one Thingujam Prabin Singh (28) of Wangkhei Keithel Ashangbi, Imphal East, along with live rounds and cough syrups on Thursday.

According to Manipur Police Control Room, the recoveries included nine rounds of 9mm ammunition, one each 7.62 ammunition, bullet proof iron plate with jacket/vest, i-phone, Aadhaar card and SBI debit card, 112 bottles of Tussrex-TR cough syrup and Rs 32,600 cash.
