Training on mushroom cultivation conducted

Under the sponsorship of RNBA, Tarung, a training programme on mushroom cultivation technology was jointly organised by Realm of Nature Based Actions and RAMA Foundation (RAMAF) at RNBA office, Tarung on April 28 and 29 .
In a release, RAMAF informed that resource person Soram Rajendra Kumar, a Regional Achiever awardee, delivered a talk on scientific methods of mushroom cultivation, disease management, identification of poisonous mushrooms, value-added products such as pickles and dried mushrooms, marketing, and financial assistance.
The objective of the programme is to increase production, empower individuals with valuable skills to improve their quality of life, and help them become more self-reliant, said the release, adding that it aims to help the trainees generate income and develop skills.
Informing that a health awareness session was also included at the end of the function, the release said that around 30 persons from different districts of Manipur participated in the training.
Spawn and plastics were distributed, and certificates handed over to the trainees.
A visit to a farm at Kwakeithel Lakpoklakpam Leikai run by one Ibomcha was also conducted as a part of the training.
